What is a darts sweepstake?
A darts sweepstake is a random draw where each person is assigned a player from the World Darts Championship field. Whoever is assigned the eventual champion - or the player who goes furthest - wins the sweepstake.
How do you run a World Darts Championship sweepstake?
Once the draw opens, add everyone taking part and press Run Draw. Each person is randomly assigned a darts player from the field, with no paper draw or spreadsheet needed, and the organiser can share the results with the group.
Is the darts sweepstake draw random?
Yes. The championship field is shuffled randomly before being assigned. In the standard draw, each darts player can only be drawn once, so no two people share the same one.
How are darts players assigned?
The full championship field is shuffled and dealt to your list in order. Every darts player has an equal chance of landing with anyone, so nobody can engineer getting the world number one.
How many people can join a darts sweepstake?
The World Championship has one of the biggest fields in any sweepstake, so there is room for large offices. Smaller groups can assign several darts players to each person so the whole field is covered.
Why is the World Darts Championship good for an office sweepstake?
It runs over the Christmas and New Year period, the field is huge, and upsets are common - which keeps the sweepstake alive well into the tournament even for people who drew outsiders.
How much does a darts sweepstake cost?
The planned darts draw will follow the same simple pricing: free for up to 4 people, with the full championship field unlocked by a one-off £1.99 payment and no subscription.
When will the darts sweepstake be available?
It opens once the field for the next World Championship is confirmed, usually in late November. In the meantime you can run a free Premier League sweepstake.
